So many adventures..So little time

A real adventure must challenge you in three main ways: mentally, physically and emotionally. The adventure must make you think at a different level out of your norm, it must also cause you to use your body in ways that could either cause complete relaxation or absolute mind boggling pain. Lastly it must challenge you emotionally, at the end of the adventure you should be in touch with some emotion, whether it be anger, joy, or sadness.

Oh so many adventures, Oh so little time. During the course of Three weekends, I plan on going on 3, three, not one, not two, but THREE adventures, All which will challenge me mentally, physically and emotionally. My first adventure will be a spiritual adventure, which will challenge me mentally, physically and emotionally.I will meditate for four hours everyday anywhere that I am. I will have to sit for hours and be in absolute silence and completely immobile. At the end of the meditation I should be either really angry from doing nothing but sitting, or I can be at complete peace.

My second adventure is a social adventure.  I will be visiting parks around Georgia with a friend while fencing. What I mean is that we will stop in the middle of a crowd and burst out in a fencing battle. The challenging thing is, is that me nor this friend has ever fenced a day in our lives. This will challenge physically because I'm not really active at all and my friend is super athletic. Mentally, I have a short attention span, so I will have to keep focused and try to avoid getting poked. Emotionally, I can be a wreck, so if I get stabbed I will possibly throw a fit.

My final adventure will be I guess a road trip adventure. Me and a group of four to five of my friends will be going on a road trip through out Georgia and where ever we land, that's where we will explore. We do not plan on sleeping in a hotel but in the car or in a tent. That's hard for me because sleeping in a car with five other people keeps me from getting comfortable and I am a very wild sleeper. Also I have a very horrible since of direction so if we get lost and nobody knows where to go, we will have to follow the little dipper to find my way home. Last some of these girls going on this road trip can be a little diva-ish so I know with the lack of sleeping space, little knowledge of directions and different personalities, tempers and emotions will
flair.
I hope that this adventure does not kill me

  1. I like the third adventure the best, the road trip and was on my list of things I would want to do. I do think that whatever you find on your road trip it'll challenge you and you'll find something out about yourself you might not have known before. As for the first one. Good luck that is all I have to say for that one. The second one is more of a flash mob idea to me and not so adventurous to me. I suggest fencing random people and see if they can fence or if they are on the same athletic field you are. I do feel as if you could be a little more convincing on how these three activities are adventures though. Other than that great ideas and I look forward to more from you.

  2. This is some useful feedback from Tim and I agree with him in that the last adventure seems to hold the most potential for yielding insight.

Part of the issue is there's a lot of labeling of adventures happening in this blog entry, but there isn't any in-depth discussion of a particular kind of adventuring. The first paragraph is pretty generic. And the other paragraphs mention specific types of adventures but never define them.

If I were you, I'd FOCUS this work on ONE type of adventure... SOCIAL?... What IS a "social adventure"? Your definition should exist INDEPENDENTLY from your planned experience itself. Then see how that definition shapes your perception of the experience....

    See me for more discussion.
